Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the use of free software models in commercial applications. I completely understand where you're coming from. It's great to see the enthusiasm and support for free software.
To clarify, free software, by its very definition, is free to use in any manner, including for commercial purposes. This is a fundamental principle of free software. The licenses governing these projects are designed to provide users with the freedom to use, modify, and distribute software as they see fit, as long as they comply with the terms set forth in the license.

Encouraging contributions back to the community is certainly a wonderful thing, and it helps strengthen and advance the software environment. However, it's important to remember that users have the right to leverage these models commercially without an obligation to contribute. The free software model thrives on this diversity of use, allowing innovation and creativity to flourish in various forms.
So, while it's fantastic to see people contributing and enhancing free software projects, it's equally important to recognize and respect the freedoms that these licenses grant, including the freedom to use the software commercially without the necessity to give back. This flexibility is one of the many reasons why free software has become so impactful and widely adopted.
Thank you for your dedication to the free software community!
Best regards,
Jean Louis
