Leaf Detection Model

The YOLOv8 object detection model has been fine-tuned to detect winter wheat leaves mounted on template pages and scanned using a flatbed scanner. The resulting model weights are saved as leaf-detection-model-30-July-2024.pt.

The template pages used for mounting the leaves are generated by a Linux shell script provided in the file generate_pdfs.txt. This script is from the supplementary materials of Ethan Stewart et al. (2016), Phytopathology®, 106(7), 782–788.
