Meta Llama Request Denied
Dear Hugging Face Team,
I am a student at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and I am currently working on my diploma project as well as conducting scientific research. I kindly request access to the LLaMA-3.1 repository, as this model is crucial for my academic work.
I fully understand and agree to abide by the licensing terms and any usage restrictions imposed on the model. I would be very grateful if you could reconsider my request.

I too got this for 3.3 model: Your request to access this repo has been rejected by the repo's authors. I am in the states.
I'm finding it frustrating that I'm not receiving a response regarding the reason for the refusal of access to models 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 4. As an independent researcher/developer, I was expecting a more straightforward process. I simply provided my first and last name in the form as requested, and I'm certain I didn't make any mistakes. It's disappointing to be left without any feedback or explanation. Furthermore, I don't see a way to resubmit my request or correct any potential errors. It's worth noting that I do have access to the models on the Meta website, but using Hugging Face is more convenient for installation and integration into my projects. Could you please provide some insight into what might have gone wrong? I'm looking forward to understanding the issue and potentially resolving it.
If there are reasons why HuggingFace can't allow you to retry then perhaps they should have a big warning before you apply "Warning! You get one shot at this. Fail and you'll be forever blocked. Make sure you spell your name right, don't put in the wrong d.o.b., disable your adblocker and stand well back when you press submit!"
It's a bafflingly poor user experience - it's not even clear if HuggingFace or Meta is responsible. FWIW, while I also got rejected initially from https://www.llama.com/models/llama-3/ at least you can retry. It might be coincidence but I had success after I disabled my adblocker.

I realize this might not be that helpful to everyone on this thread except as reassurance that there are folks at Meta who are paying attention and trying to fix these issues.
